CUEVA TREK

I woke up early last 19th of September 2010 and started packing  my things, excited  for the adventure ahead. There’s one thing I failed to do: going to the CR first. I  learned  that one must make sure he doesn't have yesterday’s ‘baggages’ when he plans to go to a far-flung place where the comfort room is scarce. As we were going uphill, the worst thing happened. Thank God, a woman accommodated us in her house and permitted us to use her CR.

I went to Cueva with Kuya Jeb, Elemar, Gideon and Anwar (my Muslim friend). The hike would cost you all your energies, but man, the scene was worth it! We were surprised with an exhilarating view of our town when we reached the upper part of the baranggay.

This place was termed as such because a small cave is found there. We weren’t able to approach that site ‘coz it’s located near the plaza. We just went to the forest part. We were advised to wear pants and bring off lotion due to 'friendly' mosquitoes.

Rambutan for hungry adventurers

We arrived at the place  where lots of fruit-bearing trees are located. We picked rambutans and took pictures of the surroundings: the boulders, ants, coconuts and shrubs. The coolness and simplicity of the place refreshed us.

The number of people we met when we visited that place is fewer than 10. I just remembered seeing a man riding on a horse, the resident of the lot where we rested, the woman who let us use her cr, and another man riding on a horse with his dog. Brgy. Cueva is such quiet, wonder-filled place. It you're hungry for nature-related discoveries, this place is for you :)
