Eats More Fun During Santa Maria Day

The Kiddie Cooks' Contest being held at Santa Maria Elementary School. 

29 September 2012--A hunger-inducing aroma welcomed me as I entered SMES Covered Court to peek-in at the Kiddie Cooks' Contest. It's surprising to see selected elementary pupils of each public schools in Santa Maria giving out their best to win the competition. Dishes such as Kare-kare con labahita, Cocoveshoom ala king, Ginataang Dinengdeng  ('di ko pa yata na-encounter etong dishes na 'to) amazed the judges and the audience alike. Capt. Raoul Nitro commented that the event itself will help the kids hone their cooking talent. 'Being involved in this pursuit will make them familiar with this kind of interest and  help them be responsible citizens. An event such as this will bring out the skill in them,' he added.
