Preparing for La Laguna Festival

Our beloved folks united to assemble our booth for exhibition in the La Laguna Trade Fair Booth Contest. The La Laguna Festival, which will be held from March 8-17, 2013 at Santa Cruz Capitol, has the theme  "Sa Puso at Diwa: Una sa Lahat ang Bagong Laguna." It was my first time to see and celebrate the event. What 's more exciting was that I was able to witness the preparation of our hometown booth.

This time, they used the 'Nipa Hut' theme and displayed our prized crops and products such as tree seedlings, fruits, coconut oil, walis tambo (fyi from Bgy. Santiago), etc. It took more than a day to set up the whole thing. While they were busy with the preparations, I roamed around to see what's worth capturing during the event's soft opening.

Binan, Laguna welcomes the visitors with their modernized letter-figures.

Having a gigantic dove as an attraction, Kalayaan also sells woven baskets.

Hmmm... do I need to label the town where it came from? Can I hear an answer? :)

Cavinti has a sparkling banner and an eye- catching booth made of buli.

Nakakatuwa dito, may aircon!

Calamba's finest, an imitation of Dr. Jose Rizal's house. They also sell stuffs inside.
I feel like I am really in Santa Rosa.
We have also spotted our Senior Citizens attending the event. They were involved in the parade held during the soft opening. Di naman sila masyadong excited! :)

Displayed along the venue are the towering floral decors; in the entrance and between some booths are the majestic ornaments hung on a skeleton hut. And what is festival without music? We had brass band, of course :)

Lastly, this night's highlight was Gov. ER Ejercito's State of the Province Address.
