Sa Kabukiran

Here I am in one of my favorite spots in Santa Maria, Laguna--Talangka!

Mamay (lolo) and Inay (lola) lived here. I have lots of memories with them in this place. Now, the house is being rented by Ka Bong, the one who prints shirts. They take care of the surroundings.

Surprisingly, much of our trees here bear fruits this season. We have:

  • rambutan
  • banana
  • pomelo
  • indian and piko mangoes
  • lanzones
  • guyabano
  • bignay (I learned that this fruit can be eaten. Tita Ellen told us that they used to bring a bunch of them when they go to school. She wondered why the kids  don't like it nowadays. The fruits look similar to coffee, that's why I mistakenly identified it as one.)
  • coconut
  • santol

Some fruits are not ripe yet.

With a quackquack here and a quackquack there

Kobe in the making.

Food fit to feed the whole baranggay.

(1) The kids had their share of the fruits. (2) A kid failed
to pick the guyabano due to ant attack. (3) Looks like a
basketball game!
Can't get enough of rambutan.

Ka Domeng's residence located at 'Ilaya.' Rambutan trees
are planted at the back of his house.
