7-Eleven is Opening Tomorrow!

The largest convenience store in the world has reached our hometown. Tomorrow, November 19, will be the store chain's grand opening. It is located at Real Velasquez St. cor. P. Burgos St. To be more specific, sa tapat ng tindahan ni Ka Bibot. :)

• 7-eleven was founded in Dallas, Texas in 1927.
• Its branches were originally called 'Tote'm Stores'. The word 'tote' means to carry, which is obviously what customers do with their purchases. The name was then replaced with 7-eleven in 1946 which reminds the people of its operation hours which starts from 7:00 am and ends in 11:00 pm.
• It has 51,600+ stores in 16 countries.
• The company, which celebrates its 'birthday' in July 11, is on its 86th year this 2013.
• It was the first store to open 24 hours a day.
• The first 7-eleven store in the Philippines was opened in Quezon City in 1984.
• As of this year, there are 893 7-eleven outlets in the Philippines. I guess the branch here hasn't been included in the list.
